The links below cover a wide range of topics such as how to meet people, energetic activities such as hot air ballooning, surfing the net, issues of health and fitness as well as information on housing and politics.
Some are simply informative while others seek your participation. If any of these topics are of interest to you then you should inform the scheme administrator and these can be included in your programme. Many of the items shown here can be covered through the internet.
General Retirement Information This page is delivered by Direct Gov which provides easy access to the public services you use and the information you need, delivered by the UK government.
Seniority has topics including health, hobbies, travel, entertainment, fun and games;
Silverhairs gives advice about computer problems and accessing the internet;
Silversurfers is a not for profit website, including areas on food and drink, health and fitness, travel and holidays, finance and hobbies;
Wiseowls is for over 45s, and is based around business and employment advice, including job vacancies.
Carry On Gardening is the forum and meeting place for people who love gardening and want to carry on enjoying the benefits and rewards.
S.P.I.C.E. UK is the Special Programme of Initiative, Challenge and Excitement, a UK wide social group for anyone seeking to do something out of the ordinary, and is for ages from 18 to 75. Activities range from hot air ballooning to theatre trips. Eight UK cities have a local group.
The Ramblers Association is Britain's biggest charity working to promote walking and to improve conditions for all walkers. Through its network of dedicated volunteers and staff, it supports all who walk, from beginners to experienced enthusiasts and from the young to the young at heart.
