Blairs Pre-Retirement Programme

Retirement is now a poor description of life after work, it is the beginning of a new life and the intention of the BPRP is to help facilitate the move from full-time employment into retirement, making the transition as smooth as possible.

The BPRP will help employees to:

  • Understand their future income and sources of support,
  • Learn about the benefits of diet, exercise and good health
  • Develop new hobbies and pastimes in preparation for retirement
  • Deal with the legal issues affecting retirees
  • Participate in education programmes including IT, internet and email
  • Investigate the many roles available for volunteers within the community

The scheme draws on a range of resources to provide the best advice and support for employees considering retirement, including the impressive work of Age Concern which has invested significantly in help for retirees. BPRP will also guide employees through the many levels of entitlements and benefits available from the Government.

One of the key aspects of the scheme is the provision of private and specific advice on each individuals financial standing.

The BPRP website provides links to various organisations and agencies for arranging courses, learning new skills and volunteering in the community, the cost of which will be met by the company. Each section is organised into specific categories to allow easy access to the various external websites.

The Blairs Pre-Retirement Programme is open to all Blairs’ employees as they prepare for retirement.
